Hanna Phosporus Checker ULR

Gotten this electronic checker to get better accuracy on Phosphate (PO4) reading compare to D-D Phospate Test Kit.

Test result 114 ppb (Phosphorus) from my shallow 5ft tank containing rocks soak in RO/DI water. Apparently the rocks are still releasing PO4 into the water. :(

Recommended PO4 for SPS tank would be 0 to 0.03 mg/L. Basically need to achieve max reading of 10ppb on my Hanna checker. Still far to go.....

Side by side D-D H2Ocean Phosphate test kit and Hanna Phosporus Checker (ULR - Ultra Low Range).

After reading and research, I managed to obtain formula to convert Phosphorus to Phosphate. Formula as per below:

([Phosporus (in ppb)] x  3.066) / 1000 = Phosphate (in ppm)

Taken my test result as example, it would be 114 x 3.066 / 1000 = 0.349.

+2.5ft tank - Day 246

9 months old scape. No change to the scape besides adding in L. Vietnam. Need to do major trimming again otherwise it is going to turn into jungle scape. BorneoWild Boost A is really boosting the growth faster than I want it to.

Gotten it for free from one of MAC member. Limnophila Vietnam. Growing well despite multiple trimming to propagate the plant.

Big boss of the tank.

Iriantherina werneri. commonly known as Threadfin Rainbow. Don't you love the flare? I am still looking for female to add into the tank but fish shop only sell males.

Microrasboras Galaxy. Bought 4 but 3 of it decided to live out of the water. I am thinking to get another 3 for this guy. Lonely little fella.

Minimalist Rock Scape

3 days of mix and match to come out with this scape. Around 40-50kg of rocks. All the rocks have been soaked in bleach solution (1:1) for 1-2 days followed by RO/DI water for about 14 days. Daily change of RO/DI water.

Still pending for minor plumbing work before this tank can taste salt . . . more to come :)

Rock scape + Tunze? + Additives

Rock scape. Still lack a couple more rocks. Rock hunting again this upcoming weekend.

Top shot. My first attempt scaping marine tank.

Liquid bacteria + bacteria feed. ROWA carbon for Fluidized Reactor.

New toys. ^_^. Tunze Multicontroller 7096 + Tunze Nanostream 6055 (currently have 1 but will add another one later). Tunze packaging is very modest with nothing fancy. I cannot even find a user manual. Not sure if it does include but well, it is dummy proof.

Unboxing the Tunze Multicontroller.

Tunze wave-maker holder comes with rubber "joint" to absorb vibration. Brilliant design.

Top shot of the blue rubber.

Position inside my tank. Wanted to purchase Vortech but I didnt like the noise level so end up with Tunze.

What is in the box? I am gonna have mini lab at home soon. . . weee~!

User Manual. No idea how to use it yet. I am Lazy to read

Portable refractometer. Getting accurate reading is really tough because the grid is so small. Need to wear my specs.
